Notification No. 86/2026-Customs (N.T.): Revision of tariff values

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs issued Notification No. 86/2026-Customs (N.T.) under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. It substitutes the tariff-value tables in Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) for specified goods.

The revised values include specified edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver and areca nuts. The notification states that it comes into force on 16 October 2026.

Practical impact: Importers and Customs teams handling the listed goods should use the revised tariff values from the effective date and check the exact description, tariff heading, unit and conditions in the original notification. The notification’s tariff value is a prescribed Customs valuation reference for the goods and circumstances covered by its terms.
